I was in the generation that grew up knowing human beings could destroy the human species. Now I'm watching it happen, not with a bang but a whimper.

@LeftwardSwing Trump nearly made it so my family could not work in this country legally. If you are not even remotely happy about this you live a privileged life. This doesn't mean the work is even remotely close to done, but it is a victory for some comrades.
Wait until you hear what Joe Biden did to people with his immigration policies which are horrific & lasted decades compared to Trump's 4 years. There's a reason why he gave up on the Latino vote during the primaries & why he was protested by immigration activists.
Bernie Sanders, not Joe Biden, should have been inaugurated as the president today and would have been had the DNC not put its thumb on the scale twice and had Barack Obama not intervened to get Buttigieg and Klobuchar to drop out before Super Tuesday to clear the path for Biden.
Bernie’s mittens are made by Jen Ellis, a teacher from Essex Junction, Vt. She gave them to him 2+ years ago and was surprised when he began wearing them on the campaign trail. They are made from repurposed wool sweaters and lined with fleece made from recycled plastic bottles.
Today is yet again another difficult day for survivors of sexual violence. While I'm thankful Trump was defeated, the idea of the man who assaulted me as our president is still terribly painful. I will be sharing resources for survivors today for #Inauguration2021

Replying to @kamuleosaurus: yeah i'm numb & unmoved and this is why. it's really hard for me to celebrate something when there's so little to look f…
Tucker Carlson: Mitch McConnell "sent word over to the White House: if you pardon Julian Assange, we are much more likely to convict you in an impeachment trial."
Weren’t people mocking @ggreenwald all day for suggesting a link between impeachment and the Assange pardon?
No, I am not excited for the inauguration of a man who: Wrote the crime and bankruptcy bills, voted for the Iraq War, took more money from Wall Street than Trump, and told a room of rich donors that “nothing will fundamentally change.” Democrats are part of the problem too.
.@SpeakerPelosi and I agree:
Congress needs to establish an investigative body like the 9/11 Commission to determine Trump's ties to Putin so we can repair the damage to our national security and prevent a puppet from occupying the presidency ever again.
Remember when Mueller spent 18 months and millions of dollars armed with a team of prosecutors and subpoena power, then closed his investigation after arresting *zero* Americans for conspiring with Russia?
Let's do it again! Anything to distract from how rotted neoliberalism is:
